Round Two...

Our poor little Ava has thrush...again!
It seems to be affecting her a lot more this time than before. She has been so sad today. So we have got her back on the meds and hopefully it will clear up quickly. Instead of posting a sad "Ava with thrush" picture, I thought I would post an "I'm cute and happy" picture.

Beautiful McCall, Idaho

This past weekend was a blast. My older brother, Derek, came to visit us for the first time since we have lived here in Boise. He is a chef in Park City so on Friday, we made him earn his keep. He cooked for about six hours to make us the most delicious pork mole enchiladas, they were so good. Everything was made from scratch! He also made some spanish rice and fresh pico de gallo. I could get used to having cooking that good on a more regular basis. He is welcome up whenever he wants, just bring the cooking gear.

Anyway, we decided to give him a break on Saturday so we drove up to a beatiful lake town in the mountains, named McCall. We had such a great time! Our friends, the Gratham's, came too. It is kind of like an up and coming Park City, so Derek was really interested in seeing what it was all about. We ate at a good pizza/pasta joint and then drove on a road that took us around the whole lake, which is huge! We drove past a ton of cabins and dreamed about someday owning one. I could see myself spending a lot of time up there. It was so beautiful, as you can see from some of the pictures. The top left picture was Derek, Josh, and I goofing around posing for our album cover, pretty lame, I know. The bottom middle picture was the only one I got of Derek holding Ava, I was kind of bummed. He wasn't too sure about her, I think he thought he was going to break her.

Anyway, we had a great time and we were so glad Derek came up to visit. We are hoping we can convince him to come up a little more often.

2 month check up

Yesterday was Ava's two month check up. She passed with flying colors even though she wasn't too happy to be there. She cried the whole time and then even worse when she got her first shots. But she made it through and did really great the rest of the day. We think she might have a little reflux and so the dr. gave us a prescription to try out. On a good note, her thrush is gone and she is really healthy.

Here are her stats:

Height: 22 3/4 in. (60th percentile)
Weight: 11 lbs (50th percentile)
Head size: 16" (90th percentile)

McDan Clan Family Reunion

This past weekend, we went over to Ashton, Idaho for The McDaniel Family reunion. We stayed in way cute cabin and just hung out. It was a lot of fun, and as previously posted, I spent a lot of time relaxing and reading. Anyway, I didn't take very many pictures, but here are the few that I did take. First of all, no, that is not Josh holding Ava, that is his older brother and they look a lot alike. I love the picture of Ava with her cousins. She seems so happy to be with them. I can already see her following them around when she gets a little bit older. Hopefully they still think it is cute then. Anyway, Ava was a hit. It makes me so happy to know that she has aunts, uncles, and cousins that love her and are excited she is in the family. Thank you so much to Shelly for planning such a great reunion. We are looking forward to it again next year. I am starting the protest, "No More Camping, Stay in Cabin!"

I'm addicted!!!

Okay, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and see what all of the fuss is about....Holy Cow....I am in love! I could not put this book down. We went up to Josh's family reunion, and let's just say, his family probably didn't see much of me. I just stayed in our room and read. The only time his family did see me, I was going on and on about how I am in love with a vampire. Luckily, my niece was also reading the book and could relate. Anyway, is it totally lame that I am crushing on a seventeen year old vampire? Don't answer that. I was so worried that I would finish Twilight and not have New Moon that I drove into town, we were staying up in a cabin in the mountains, to go to Deseret Book and get the next two. I finished Twilight just as we were pulling back into Boise, which is so strange because normally I can't read in the car, but I was just so into it. Anyway, I am already way wrapped up in New Moon and can't put it down. Thank you so much to everyone who blogged about this series, I can't imagine my life without it.
Also, for all you Twilight fans, I just came across this great website about Twilight. Anyway, the best part is.. they are making a movie and on the website Stephanie Meyer, lists and provides pictures for all of the actors that she would like to play the various roles. Anyway, it was really interesting seeing who the characters looked like in her mind. The website is www.stepheniemeyer.com. Check it out!

I'm a Dummy

Okay, so to clear up any confusion, including my own. Your comments haven't been posting because I chose to moderate the comments that people leave. Anyway, I had no idea what that meant, but now that I do, it is pretty cool. Anyway, I will keep up on it now that I know what I am doing. And to think I was feeling sorry for myself that no one ever wanted to leave comments on my blog. Silly me. Thanks, for all your comments. We are looking forward to a visit down south conference weekend. Can't wait to introduce Ava to you guys. She is doing so great, besides the fact that we just found out she has thrush. Her and I are both got a perscription and we should have it taken care of in no time. She doesn't seem to be too bothered by it. Otherwise, we are feeling great and loving life. I love being a mom, which has actually really surprised me!

A Grape holding a Grape

This weekend my mom and Grandpa came up for a quick visit. We all call my grandpa "Grape" because one of the great grandchildren thought we were saying grape grandpa instead of great grandpa and the name just stuck. He has been the Grape for a few years now. Anyway, Ava is his 11th grape grandchild, but she is definitely the favorite. Ava just loved him and was smiling at him constantly. We had a really fun weekend filled with games of Rack-o, lots of food, lots of laughter, and one too many trips to Costco! Unfortunately it went by way to quickly. But, I just wanted to thank them for coming up. Grape, we love having you stay, thanks for the trip to Texas Roadhouse (yummy, yummy!) and for being so much fun. You make it so easy to be the favorite granddaughter. We look forward to a visit from you next year.

Big Shoes to fill

My sister, Kelcie, gave me these adorable boots at one of my baby showers, even though they are way too big right now, I couldn't resist trying them on and taking a few pics.
